Zürich vs Grasshopper Match Preview

On Sunday Oct 23rd, Zürich hosts Grasshopper in a meeting of these two Super League teams in the ever popular Zürich derby. The game day is forecasted to be a cloudy and cool day, with daytime temperatures of only 13 degrees, which will be a great treat for players. In their last match, Zürich recorded a 0-0 scoreless draw against Young Boys. Neither Zürich nor Young Boys could manage to put one past the goalie. They had 6 and 10 shots on net respectively, but no one could score, and the match ended in a scoreless draw,. They’re hoping to improve on their recent performance, having lost 5 of their last 10, while grasshopper is fresh off their 0-1 loss against Winterthur. Ramizi struck first for Winterthur in the 51st minute, and that single goal was all that was necessary as neither team could manage any more scoring In the end, Grasshopper was frustrated by Winterthur’s defence and couldn’t put any tallies on the board. Winterthur ended the match with the shutout victory. Grasshopper is looking for direction having earned 11 points in their last 10 matches.

On Oct 1st, Grasshopper hosted Zürich at the Stadion Letzigrund in their last match together. Grasshopper and Zürich battled to a 1-1 draw. Marchesano scored the first goal for Zürich in the 14th minute, then Bendegúz Bolla tied it up for Grasshopper in the 49th minute on a feed from Giotto Morandi earning Grasshopper at least a draw.

Both Hayao Kawabe and Bendegúz Bolla have been the hottest scorers for Grasshopper in the last five each having scored 2 goals each. Zürich hasn’t been successful in netting any goals lately. Their top scorers in the last five matches are Antonio Marchesano and Jonathan Okita, and they each have 1 goal.
