In this 7th week match, on Saturday May 21st, Sandefjord plays host to Lillestrøm in a clash of the Eliteserien. Weather on match day is looking like a cloudy and cool day, with daytime temperatures of only 12 degrees, which should make for a nice day for football. 13th placed Sandefjord is fresh off their 0-3 loss against Rosenborg. Stefano Vecchia struck first for Rosenborg in the 7th minute on a feed from Noah Holm, then Edvard Sandvik Tagseth added another in the 58th minute In the end, Sandefjord was frustrated by Rosenborg’s defence and couldn’t put any tallies on the board. Rosenborg ended the match with the shutout victory. They’re hoping to improve on their recent performance, having lost 4 of their last 10, while 2nd placed Lillestrøm is fresh off their 1-0 shutout win against Sarpsborg 08. Yildren Ibrahimaj struck first for Lillestrøm in the 67th minute on a feed from Adams, and that single goal was all that was necessary as neither team could manage any more scoring In the end, Sarpsborg 08 couldn’t muster any offence and Lillestrøm ran away with the shutout win. Lillestrøm should be reasonably happy with their recent performance, earning 20 points in their last 10 matches.
These two teams have not yet played each other this season. Last season Lillestrøm won the head to head battle with 1 win and 1 draw.
For Lillestrøm, their top scorers are Holmbert Aron Fridjonsson and Yildren Ibrahimaj, each having 2 goals in their last five matches. Sandefjord’s most prolific scorer has been Mohamed Ofkir. The Norwegian attacker has netted 3 goals over the last 5 matches.
