Week 1 brings us a match on Apr 23rd where Motherwell plays host to Rangers in a Premiership match. Weather on match day is looking like a cloudy and cool day, with daytime temperatures of only 9 degrees, making for an unpleasant day. Motherwell is fresh off their 2-2 draw against Livingston. Odin Bailey scored the first goal for Livingston in the 26th minute, then Alan Forrest added another in the 58th minute on a feed from Nicky Devlin . They’re hoping to improve on their recent performance, having earned only 8 points in their last 10 matches, while 5th placed Rangers is fresh off their 3-1 win against Sporting Braga. James Tavernier scored the first goal for Rangers in the 2nd minute, then James Tavernier added another in the 44th minute from the penalty spot. Rangers should be reasonably happy with their recent performance, earning 19 points in their last 10 matches.
On the 27th of February, Rangers hosted Motherwell at the Ibrox Stadium in their last match together. Rangers and Motherwell battled to a 2-2 draw. Alfredo Morelos struck first for Rangers in the 22nd minute, then Fashion Sakala added another in the 24th minute on a feed from Alfredo Morelos.
Rangers is fortunate enough to have Kemar Roofe in top form. In the last five matches the attacker has scored 4 goals. Joseph Efford and Kevin van Veen are the top scorers for Motherwell in the last 5 matches, but unfortunately they only have one goal. It’s hard to imagine having success with those stats.
