Gimnasia La Plata vs Colón Match Preview

In this week 6 match on the 4th of March, Gimnasia La Plata hosts Colón at Estadio Juan Carmelo Zerillo in a meeting of these two closely matched Superliga teams. Weather on match day is looking like a cloudy but hot day with daytime temperatures of 28 degrees, which hopefuly doesnt affect the pace of the match. In their last match, Gimnasia La Plata recorded a 0-1 loss against Barracas Central. Carlos Arce scored the first goal for Barracas Central in the 19th minute, and with that single goal the scoring was complete. Neither team could manage anything else In the end, Gimnasia La Plata was frustrated by Barracas Central’s defence and couldn’t put any tallies on the board. Barracas Central ended the match with the shutout victory. They’re hoping to improve on their recent performance, having earned only 9 points in their last 10 matches, while 27th placed Colón is fresh off their 1-1 draw against Huracán. Nicolás Cordero struck first for Huracán in the 3rd minute on a feed from Juan Manuel García, then Jorge Benitez tied it up for Colón in the 33rd minute on a feed from Meza earning Colón a comeback draw. They’re hoping to improve on their recent performance, having earned only 7 points in their last 10 matches.

These two teams have not yet played each other this season. Last season these teams were evenly matched with 1 draw apiece.

Jorge Benitez has been the most effective weapon for Colón lately. The attacker has netted two goals in his last 5 matches. Guillermo Enrique and Erik Ramirez are the top scorers for Gimnasia La Plata in the last five matches, but unfortunately they only have one goal.
