Crystal Palace vs Southampton Match Preview


In a weekend match on Saturday Oct 29th, in week 14, Crystal Palace hosts Southampton at Selhurst Park in a Premier League match. The game day is forecasted to be a cloudy and cool day, with daytime temperatures of only 13 degrees, which should make for a nice day for football. Crystal Palace is looking for direction having 3 win and 3 losses in their last 10 matches, while 16th placed Southampton is fresh off their 1-1 draw against Arsenal. Granit Xhaka struck first for Arsenal in the 11th minute, then Stuart Armstrong tied it up for Southampton in the 65th minute on a feed from Mohamed Elyounoussi earning Southampton at least a draw. Southampton is looking for direction having earned 11 points in their last 10 matches.

This will be the first match for these two teams against eachother this season. Last season Crystal Palace won the head to head battle with 1 win and 1 draw.

Southampton hasn’t been successful in netting any goals lately. Their top scorers in the last 5 matches are Joe Aribo and Romain Perraud, and they each have 1 goal. Crystal Palace is lucky enough to have a few offensive weapons, with Odsonne Édouard and Eberechi Eze each having 2 goals in their last 5

Patrick Vieira’s squad will be without Nathaniel Clyne, James McArthur, Nathan Ferguson and Chris Richards, while Ralph Hasenhüttl’s squad will be without Kyle Walker-Peters and Valentino Livramento.
