Shamrock Rovers vs St Patrick’s Match Preview

Week 6 brings us a match on Mar 17th, where Shamrock Rovers will host St Patrick’s at Waterford Regional Sports Centre in a Premier Division match in the ever popular Dublin derby. The game day is forecasted to be a cloudy and cool day, with daytime temperatures of only 9 degrees, making for an unpleasant day. In their last match, 8th placed Shamrock Rovers, recorded a 0-0 scoreless draw against Shelbourne. Neither Shelbourne nor Shamrock Rovers could manage to put one past the goalie. They had 8 and 13 shots on net respectively, but no one could score, and the match ended in a scoreless draw,. They’re hoping to improve on their recent performance, having earned only 9 points in their last 10 matches, while in their last match, 9th placed St Patrick’s, recorded a 0-2 loss against Bohemians. Jonathan Afolabi scored the first goal for Bohemians in the 18th minute, then Dean Williams added another in the 2nd minute of the second half’s stoppage time In the end, St Patrick’s was frustrated by Bohemians’s defence and couldn’t put any tallies on the board. Bohemians ended the match with the shutout victory. They’re hoping to improve on their recent performance, having earned only 9 points in their last 10 matches.

This will be the first match for these two teams against eachother this season. Last season Shamrock Rovers won the head to head battle with 3 wins.

Joseph Redmond and Eoin Doyle are the top scorers for St Patrick’s in the last five matches, but unfortunately they only have one goal.. Shamrock Rovers’s top weapon lately has been Graham Burke, who has 2 goals in the last five matches.
