Brentford vs Crystal Palace Match Preview

In this week 24 match on the 18th of February, Brentford will play host to Crystal Palace in a clash of these two closely matched Premier League teams in the ever popular London derby. The game day is forecasted to be a cloudy and cool day, with daytime temperatures of only 12 degrees, which should make for a nice day for football. In their last match, 8th placed Brentford, recorded a 1-1 draw against Arsenal. Leandro Trossard struck first for Arsenal in the 66th minute on a feed from Bukayo Saka, then Ivan Toney tied it up for Brentford in the 74th minute earning Brentford at least a draw. Brentford should be reasonably happy with their recent performance, earning 20 points in their last 10 matches, while in their last match, Crystal Palace recorded a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion. Solly March struck first for Brighton & Hove Albion in the 63rd minute, then James Tomkins tied it up for Crystal Palace in the 69th minute squeezing out at least the one point for Crystal Palace. They’re hoping to improve on their recent performance, having earned only 9 points in their last 10 matches.

On the 30th of August, Crystal Palace hosted Brentford in their last match together. Crystal Palace and Brentford battled to a 1-1 draw. Wilfried Zaha struck first for Crystal Palace in the 59th minute, then Yoane Wissa got the equalizer for Brentford in the 88th minute on a feed from Vitaly Janelt earning Brentford at least a draw.

Michael Olise and Jeffrey Schlupp are the top scorers for Crystal Palace in the last five matches, but unfortunately they only have one goal. It’s hard to imagine having success with those stats. Brentford is lucky enough to have a few offensive weapons, with Mathias Jensen and Ivan Toney each having 2 goals in their last five

Thomas Frank’s squad will be without Frank Onyeka, Shandon Baptiste, Thomas Strakosha and Pontus Jansson, while Wilfried Zaha, James McArthur and Nathan Ferguson are unavailable to play for Crystal Palace.
